Dear participants, valuable exhibition viewers; Our exhibition city, Şanlıurfa, is a city located in the heart of the “fertile crescent” and bearing deep traces of history, which many local and foreign tourists continue to visit. In archaeological sites such as Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe in our region, “artworks” continue to emerge in archaeological excavations as “documents of past experiences”. In these lands where history is being rewritten, we came together with friends who live and produce art to share the beauties together. We are happy to meet with artists and viewers in the “GOBEKLİTEPEART - 2025” exhibition, which has a rich content and where art producers with different working techniques participate. Valuable artists who see art as a power to better understand and interpret the world and who produce works; We are delighted to invite you to our “INTERNATIONAL GÖBEKLİTEPEART - 2025” mixed exhibition, which will take place between April 21-27, 2025. The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Stone and Talisman”, inspired by Karahantepe, an important archaeological site from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period located in Şanlıurfa and bearing similar characteristics to Göbeklitepe. Stones and talismans have been used as objects believed to have protective and healing powers throughout history. You can use this main theme in your works with the disciplines you work in, and we can all discover the mystical and symbolic meanings of stones and talismans in this exhibition. The exhibition, which will be opened on April 21, 2025 at Harran University, will be held simultaneously with the “Interdisciplinary Exploration of Karahantepe: Stone and Talisman Workshop”. We would be honored to have you among us to discover and share the power of different disciplines of art together.
